Salem Browning is a transdisciplinary artist from North Carolina. Salem’s performative work is a play on the magic role of the court jester, allowing the phantasmagorical qualities of the clown to unveil deeper questions about primordial waters and self becoming. Salem finds solace in the deep blue of cyanotype and considers the process of translation between emulsion and alternative processes an underlying metaphor for the transmasc nature of his performances.
